Snowshoe hiking in the winter holiday Obergurgl
Explore the beautiful winter landscape on foot
Winter hikers will find a unique experience in the furthest reaches of the Ötztal. The walking pace is perfect for enjoying the Ötztal mountains to the full. Obergurgl-Hochgurgl has 12 km of cleared, signposted winter hiking trails that lead through snow-covered forests across snow-covered meadows and along the Gurgler Ache river. The classic on every Gurgl holiday is a leisurely walk that starts just a few hundred metres from our hotel and leads along the Ache to the Zirben Alm in Obergurgl. For real adventurers, you can head out into the snowy mountain world on snowshoes. If the path leads away from the cleared winter hiking trails into the deep snow, then it's best to strap on snowshoes. Trudging cross-country through snow-covered no man's land: that's what makes snowshoe hikes so special. The local ski school also offers guided snowshoe hikes. More information.
Guided snowshoe hikes (registration required): Depending on weather and snow conditions, the destination will be determined at short notice. Duration of the hike: approx. 2 hours. Every Wednesday evening - night hike (min. 4 participants) and every Thursday afternoon (min. 4 participants).
